HOW TO USE THE DATABASE

The language of the database is English. The simplest way to search is to write the search word in the area under the "text" box. For instance you can search for a parameter/analyte:

When writing "Campylobacter" all the files containing "campylobacter" will appear.

When writing "Bacteria" all the files contain bacteria methods will appear.

When writing "mercury" all the files containing the word mercury will appear.

When writing "metals" all the files containing metal analysis will appear.

You can also search for countries, institutions or contact persons.

You can also search for topic, subtopic and parameter by pointing at the arrow and use the appearing window shade. For any problems in the use of the database, please contact the secretariat of NMKL at nmkl@vetinst.no.

 

EXPERT LABORATORY - WHAT’S THAT?

Definition: An expert laboratory is involved in research and development, and has advanced expertise and knowledge within specific subjects/analyses.

Tasks: Several expert laboratories would also be reference laboratories and thus have similar tasks, such as:
Elaborate and optimalise methods of analysis
Propose laboratory performance studies /round robins /round trials
Produce reference materials
Perform special analyses
Verify laboratories’ results
Advising /counselling/guiding routine and control laboratories
Educate personnel
Participate in validation work

 

 

WHO CAN JOIN THE DATABASE

Nordic laboratories that satisfy the criteria described under "expert laboratory - what’s that?" can be registered in the database.

In connection with the NMKL Annual Meeting , a meeting of the expert laboratory network is held, when applications for joining will be reviewed.
