Determination of net content and drained weight of food (NMKL 55, 3. Ed., 2011)
This method describes the determination of net content and drained weight in foods with liquid packing medium. The method is harmonised with the AOAC method and methods used in Codex.
This method is intended for the determination of net content
and drained weight of solid content of foods packed with liquid
packing medium such as water, juice, brine, oil or syrup. The
liquid must be able to drain off easily at 20 oC. The net
content may not exceed 2.5 kg (approximately 5 lb). The
content in containers with a bigger net content than 2.5 kg
must be fractionated.
