Description
The method is suitable for detection and separation of water- soluble, synthetic colouring matters in most types of food. The colouring matters are isolated from the samples by fixation on woollen yarn. A screening chromatography including reference colours is carried out. To support the identification Rf values, colour by daylight/UV-light, special characteristics of the individual colours etc. are presented in a table. Alternative methods of chromatography etc. are presented for identification of colouring matters, which are interfering in the screening chromatography. Alternative methods of isolation on polyamide powder for particularly sensitive colouring matters are presented. Synt. Colouring Matters (NMKL 114)
