(Recommended by Codex as type II method) The method describes a quantitative determination of saccharin in soft drinks, juices and sweets and is suitable for use in foods containing at least 25 mg sodium saccharin/kg. Saccharin is determined by reverse phase LC with UV detection at 254 nm in soft drinks, and after extraction with ethanol in sweets.
