Description
This method is a qualitative method only, and the result is reported as: Salmonella detected/not detected in the amount of sample taken. Four separate steps are required to detect Salmonella most efficiently. These steps are necessary because Salmonella often occur in low numbers, sometimes sublethally injured, and often in the presence of much greater numbers of other bacteria of the Enterobacteriaceae family.
