NMKL 189 has been revised and split into two separate method parts, NMKL 189 A and NMKL 189 B:

• NMKL 189 A. Aerobic and anaerobic microorganisms. Part A Enumeration of  bacterial spores. Tryptone soya agar has been introduced as an option for determination of spore counts.
• NMKL 189 B. Aerobic and anaerobic microorganisms. Part B Enumeration on blood agar. No further changes have been introduced to the method for determination of aerobic and/or anaerobic count on blood agar.
