Description
This document specifies a spectrophotometric method for the determination of nitrate/nitrite content in foodstuffs and water after zinc reduction and Griess reaction. The method has been validated in vegetables (lettuce), meat products, baby food, dairy product (milk) and surface water. The validation studie shows that the method fulfills the internationally accepted fitness for purpose criteria for precision and bias.
This method has only been evaluated in a single laboratory validation study, but over several days, and with satisfactory results available in the method.
