Description
This method is qualitative , and the result is reported as: Salmonella detected/not detected in the amount of sample analysed. For a most efficient detection of Salmonella, four separate steps are required. These steps are necessary because Salmonella often occurs in low numbers, sometimes sublethally injured, and often in the presence of high numbers of other bacteria of the Enterobacteriaceae family. The method is updated with regard to including information about faecal samples
