NMKL 184. Aerobic count and specific spoilage organisms in fish and fish products.

The NMKL method 184 “Aerobic count and specific spoilage organisms in fish and fish products” was reassessed in 2022 and the outcome was that no revision is required. However, a clarifying text was added to the method in section 8.4.1 Iron Agar: “The plates should be read immediately after the incubation is finished as the colour of the colonies can fade if stored in the fridge for a prolonged period of time (e.g. over the weekend).”
