Description
This method was elaborated for quantitative determination of the toxic glycoalkaloids α-solanine (12- 218 mg/kg) and α-chaconine (17-260 mg/kg). The method was elaborated for fresh potato tubers. The limit of detection (LOD, 3 x the base line noise) is 0.02 μg for both α-solanine and α-chaconine. Under the conditions described this corresponds to a concentration of glycoalkaloids in a potato sample of 2.5 mg/kg for the substances in question.
