The protocol follows the EN ISO 16140-2: Microbiology of the food chain — Method validation — Part 2: Protocol for the validation of alternative (proprietary) methods against a reference method.

New in the version of June 2026 (29.06.26):

• The protocol has been aligned with ISO 16140-2 Amd 1, except for the recognised errors in the amendment, and LOD has been included as described.
• For qualitative studies, new formulas have been included for both MCS and ILS.
• For the ILS, calculations are included for paired studies only (not unpaired studies).
• For quantitative studies, the Excel file includes Bland–Altman plot and Accuracy Profiles for both MCS and ILS, organized in separate worksheets. For the Bland–Altman analysis, there is a minor modification to the confidence factor, using 1.96 instead of 2, i.e. no big change for the plots.
• For the Accuracy Profile, the ISO spreadsheets are recommended.

The NordVal certificates for the Bio-Rad RAPID broad range methods were renewed with additional 2y validity:

• NordVal 020 RAPID’E.coli 2 Agar – NMKL valid to 14.05.28
• NordVal 049 RAPID’Staph – NMKL valid to 20.05.28
• NordVal 022 RAPID’L.mono – NMKL valid to 14.05.28

The NordVal Certificate 055 issued to Hygiena Diagnostics GmbH for the method ‘foodproof® Salmonella Genus plus Enteritidis and Typhimurium Detection LyoKit’ was renewed and validity extended to 31 Dec 2027.

The kit is applicable for the detection of Salmonella spp., Salmonella Enteritidis and Salmonella Typhimurium in raw and ready to cook meat and poultry products and environmental samples.

The certificate NordVal 064 Microbiologique Listeria Test Kit was issued to Microbiologique  and is valid until 11.11.2027.

The Listeria IEH RT-PCR kit Microbiologique (Product Code: PM-28) is designed for horizontal testing of food matrices and environmental samples.Detection of Listeria spp. and Listeria monocytogenes is performed with the Real-time PCR IEH Listeria RT-PCR kit. The kit contains Resuspension buffer for cell lysis, Real-time PCR buffer, and pre-dispensed lyophilized Taq bead. The Listeria RT-PCR buffer (Microbiologique, Product Code: B-1237) employs three (3) fluorophores: ROX for Listeria monocytogenes, HEX for Listeria spp., and Cy5 for the internal amplification control (IAC). This multiplex fluorescence detection system enables screening and confirmation of Listeria spp. and Listeria monocytogenes in a single reaction.
